JULIA MANNING

Julia became a full time self-employed artist after taking her degree at the Bath Academy of Art in 1974. For many years she worked as a portrait painter. She has painted murals, trompe l'oeil and painted tapestries throughout Europe and the USA.

While living in Paris (1988-97) she was able to renew her passion for etching and collography and eventually bought her own large press. On returning to England she settled in Somerset and set up a large studio where she creates limited edition prints. Often combining collography and etching techniques to produce brightly coloured lively prints, her pictures are inspired by nature but lead to abstraction.

Julia has exhibited her work widely in Europe and has received commissions from all over the world. Her work is in many collections including Lord Bath's at Longleat, the British Embassy in Paris and the House of Lords.
